Knitting and crochet retreats in the heart of France...chez nous!

Find Heather on Ravelry:   flooh001

Welcome to our fabulous concept

Knit knit knit!

Rural relaxation which you can enjoy alongside a small number of like-minded knitting and crochet people in the very heart of the Limousin region of France, each of you gently pursuing one or more yarn projects.

Call it a retreat, a self-directed course, an inspirational sojourn or just “going on a break with my knitting”, you are assured a warm welcome in comfortable surroundings, your choice of either a room to yourself or shared with one other, breakfast and most meals (see detailed descriptions of each “retreat package”) and at least one trip to a place of interest.

Our large secluded garden

has assorted sociable sitting areas, plenty of shade when you want it. Al fresco lunches and dinners are the norm.

Indoors, we have a pleasant knitting/crochet studio area where, should the weather let us down, nattering around a big table will help your creative output.

Materials are not provided; however, lots of yarn knitting patterns, knitting socks patterns, needles and hooks and various other tools of the trade can be borrowed. Heather’s stock of yarn odds and ends is available to be raided, within limits. So bring your own balls of wool, cotton, alpaca or whatever chosen yarn with which to knit or crochet a splendid finished item.

The Local Area

Set in the Creuse département, just south of the very middle of France, and only four kilometres from a very pretty village (Fresselines), the house and garden nestle peacefully in a delightful spot, and have a view over fields. The nearest town is Dun-le-Palestel at just eight kilometres distance. Also of great interest is the picturesque historic village of Crozant where the ruins of a chateau-fortress dating back 1,000 years stand high above two impressive rivers. The ruins can be visited and within the village there is a celebrated restaurant, L’Auberge de La Vallée, Michelin recommended.

Olek is one of the worlds leading crochet artists, and with the St+art India foundation, she made a massive artpiece adorned a nigh shelter in Sarai Kale Khan, to bring attention to the homeless and the 'Rain Basera' Project.
