In early spring 1889, Monet painted at least twenty-three works depicting the area around the confluence of two rivers in Fresselines.

The tapestry museum of Aubusson houses a permanent collection of 17th and 18th century northern Limousin tapestries, as well as 20th century tapestries, many created by Jean Lurçat. The museum also has an outstanding tapestry documentation centre.
